Experienced manager and expert in the design of mine shafts and construction facilities included in the scope of underground construction. He has specialized knowledge in a wide range of topics related to technological facilities of the infrastructure of shaft sites on the surface and underground.
He graduated from the Faculty of Mining at the Wrocław University of Technology. He expanded the knowledge gained during his master’s studies with a specialization in deposit exploitation technology with postgraduate studies in the field of water, wastewater and waste technology also completed at the Wrocław University of Technology. In addition, he completed postgraduate studies in financial management at the Wrocław University of Economics.
Since the beginning of his work at CUPRUM, dating back to 1987, he has been involved in issues related to mine shafts. Among other things, he is the chief designer of R-XI, SW-4 and GG-1 shafts designed for the KGHM’s mines.
Acting as the head of one of the Units, and then, from 2014, of the Department, he carried out activities aimed at restoring design competencies at KGHM CUPRUM, lost due to earlier organizational changes. He formed the Geodesy Department, and as part of the restoration of lost and acquisition of new design competencies, he developed the structure of Industrial Construction and Material Research Department. He also managed the work of the Material Research Laboratory, located within the organizational structure of the Company, which is accredited by the Polish Accreditation Centre.
In addition, he served as Project Manager for the construction of basic facilities related to ventilation and air conditioning for KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., i.e.:
- Main Ventilation Station at SG-1 shaft,
- Central Air Conditioning Station at PSK GG-1.
In 2015-2018, he led the work of the research and development consortium operating under the CuBR project, co-financed by National Centre for Research and Development and KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Implemented in a consortium with PeBeKa S.A., Wroclaw University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Silesian University of Technology and the Central Mining Institute, the project, codenamed I-More, concerned the development of innovative technology for workings in deposits at great depths in the concession areas of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.
He also carried out projects for customers outside the KGHM Group, including the Wieliczka Salt Mine, the Victoria Mine in Canada and Konkola Cooper Mines in Zambia.
In 2002, he was awarded the IlI Degree Award of the Supreme Technical Organization for outstanding achievements in the field of technology, and in 2017 he was awarded the title of NOT Copper Belt Vice-Champion of Technology.
